Welcome

Are you caring for someone with a mental illness?

The term 'mental health carer' means anyone providing vital help and support to someone
with mental health issues.
With very little information and advice provided carers are
often left feeling isolated overwhelmed forgotten and confused.

When someone becomes mentally ill it is often difficult to understand, hard to discuss
it can mean major adjustments to family life, finances and social activities for all involved.

About Us
We are a self-help group of mental health carers and ex-carers holding forum meetings
and support groups (Stress Busters) at various locations throughout Derbyshire.

Forums
Are where we discuss business, and campaign about issues regarding mental health .

Stress Busters
Offer support free relaxation and a chance to meet other carers.

From Our Experience
Self-help groups do make a difference!
Mental health problems are 24 hours a day!
Carers own health can suffer!
The burden of responsibilty can sometimes be too much!
Life can be very lonely when 'on duty' all the time!
