A
self-help support group for mental health carers
When someone close to you becomes mentally ill it is
often traumatic, difficult to understand, hard to discuss, and can mean major adjustments to family life, finances and social
activities
About Us we are a voluntary self-help group, all our members are mental health carers
or ex-carers, we offer advice, support and understanding, we support 'fellow carers' and campaign on behalf of mental health issues, based
in Derbyshire we hold meetings and support groups throughout the region.
Do you need advice and support?
Are things getting too much for you?
Do you need someone to talk to
who understands?
Caring can be hard join us!
Lack of
knowledge, negative media hype and stigma still surround mental illness.
Schizophrenic, psychotic, manic depressive
Are words which can evoke fear and shame into sufferer's and carers
alike.
Our Groups
We hold two types of meetings Forums where we discuss business, invite speakers,
and try to influence policies on mental health issues. One group meets in North Derbyshire (Chesterfield) the
other in South Derbyshire (Derby).
If
you feel strongly about mental health services we can offer you a voice, as we are strategically involved as consultants in
the planning and delivery of these services.
